If you’re like me, then you probably don’t eat enough protein/enjoy eating protein. I’m definitely a carbs kinda girl. I’m not trying to be bodybuilder status, but I know protein is important for a well-balanced diet and to keep you full between meals. As a result, I’ve tried gagging down protein smoothies, shakes, protein mixed with water and I simply can’t do it. I love sneaking protein powder into my oatmeal because it’s the only way I truly can’t taste it. Here’s my super simple and quick cinnamon banana protein oatmeal recipe that’s ready in under 10 minutes.
Cinnamon Banana Protein Oatmeal:
- Ingredients:
- Rolled oats – 1/2 cup
- Water or almond milk – 1 cup
- Protein powder of your choice – 1/2 scoop to 1 scoop – I like this one
- Cinnamon – pinch
- Butter – small pad
- Sea salt – pinch
- Bananas or fruit of choice for the topping
- Recipe:
- Boil 1 cup of water
- Add in oats and stir
- Reduce to medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes – add butter
- Tip: I like to leave the oatmeal a little more watery than normal since we are adding a good amount of powder in and the powder will soak up the water – you don’t want dry, clumpy oatmeal
- Pour oatmeal into a bowl and stir in protein powder (I do 3/4 of a scoop) and cinnamon
- Top with sea salt and fruit of your choice
